A focused About Us shoot for one of the most precise CNC manufacturers in the world. Two days of lighting and capture inside a machining environment built for tight tolerances.

Who They Are:
Matsuura is a Japanese-engineered manufacturer of precision CNC machine tools, including 5-axis, vertical, horizontal, and linear motor machining centers, alongside hybrid systems that combine powder bed metal additive manufacturing with finish machining in a single platform. Their machines are used by some of the most demanding precision manufacturers in the world.

What They Needed:
Matsuura's U.S. operation needed a focused About Us video and supporting photography for use in sales conversations and brand presentation. The piece had to introduce a globally engineered brand to a U.S. audience and reflect the precision that defines their machines. That meant the production partner had to be comfortable shooting in a CNC environment and capable of producing visuals that matched the level of finish their products are known for.

The Work:
Two days on location at Matsuura's U.S. headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota. The shoot covered interviews with the team, product cinematography of the machines themselves, and a photography library of the floor and the work happening on it. The craft challenge of the project was lighting. Matsuura's machines are precision instruments with hard metal surfaces, polished steel, and tight working tolerances. Lighting them in a way that respected their engineering meant building each shot deliberately, with crisp definition on every surface and no compromise on the cleanliness of the line. The visuals had to match the products. The deliverables included a finished About Us video used on Matsuura's website and in sales presentations, alongside a photography library built for ongoing in-house and agency use.

The Outcome:
A brand piece that introduced Matsuura's U.S. operation to its market in a way that matched the precision of the machines themselves. Proof that complex industrial subjects can be shot with the same care the engineering teams who built them would expect.
